"Music has always been an important part of my life."

I began learning music playing the trumpet in fifth grade and continued
throughout high school. In ninth grade, while spending much of my
time at a local beach, I heard some friends playing acoustic
guitars. It was then that I knew I wanted to learn to play. I received my first guitar on my fourteenth birthday. It was an Epiphone acoustic that I still keep with my collection of guitars. I took lessons from Bruce Bennet in the early 80’s to help with theory and technique. Throughout high school I jammed with friends and played in the high school jazz band to help expand my knowledge of the guitar. I bought an electric guitar and started to play with bands in eleventh grade. My first real band was “Shadowfax”. Scott, Mark, Ken (rest his soul) and I were very proud of our band. I have performed and grown with many musicians throughout the years in bands such as "The Take", "All Eyes", "Excel", ”Pati & the Bad Daddy’s”, "Rock Alley", "Nasty Habits", "Sgt. Rock”, ”Joe Rockhead” and most recently “The Crossing”. In 1991 I began performing acoustically at what was then called "The Cabaret", and is now known as “The Cab”. I borrowed some equipment, bought another guitar, put together a set list and pulled off my first solo gig. I've been writing music and lyrics all of my life. With the help of Trevor Huster and Diecaster Studios I put together some of my favorites from those writings and released a CD, entitled "In Silence May We Never Be." I have more songs on the way to record and I hope to release them in the future. Early on, my
inspirations varied. Artists such as The Beatles and Neil Young gave
me an understanding of songwriting with their vast harmonies and chord
changes. As I began playing electric guitar I studied bands from the
70’s like Van Halen, Dire Straits and Led Zeppelin. These musicians
and bands created a great foundation for me to work from and I still
enjoy playing music from that era at my shows. I
appreciate all the support and encouragement I have felt over the
years from my family, friends, and fans and hope to have you with me
in my continuing musical journey.
